Congratulations to Chivas 2006 Girls for another tournament victory. The Girls won the SLO Junior Classic 2018 Premier Division going undefeated with a stingy defense that allowed only 1 goal from the field during the entire tournament. After a tough first round beating Monterey Bay Sharks 2-0 and home town SLO Storm 2-1 they faced the second place team from the other pool, Arsenal FC Central Coast, who beat Fresno Odyssey (Lomelli) 1-0 to advance. Going down 0-1 to a cheap penalty, Chivas rallied scoring 3 goals to move into the finals. In the Championship game the Chivas faced Kickers SC who beat the Chivas last year in the same tournament in the Semi-finals on PKs. This year they met in the finals. A tough battle ensued with full-time and 10 minute overtime ending in 0-0. Chivas keeper Jaclynn Martin blocked several shots and Jazmine Casteneda slotted home the winner on the 7th PK. Congratulations lady Chivas on your victory.
