“They played amazing,” Chivas coach Jacob Rivas said. “They saved the best for last. They stayed aggressive the whole time, passing, working together. All-around, they did a great job.” Jailene Fernandez scored to give the Chivas a 1-0 halftime lead. Danielle Rivas scored to give the Chivas a 2-0 lead and after Boca cut the lead to 2-1, Stefany Tadeo scored to put the Chivas up 3-1. After Boca closed to within 3-2, Fernandez scored again for the final margin.Rivas also praised the play defensive play of Briley German, who did an outstanding job of marking Boca’s top offensive player. “It’s a great accomplishment,” said coach Rivas about the State Cup title. “This is great, it’s outstanding for us. I’m very proud of the girls.” Rounding out the Chivas roster are Izabella Baez, Brooke Delk, Annisa Gomez, Jessica Gonzelez, Serena Leyva, Allison Martinez, Evelyn Martinez, Isabel Mendez, Mikayle Moore, Jada Ortega, Mia Pengilly, Amaya Rios, Zoe Rios, Mia Rivas and Alicia Tadeo. |
