On the weekend of February 13-14, 2016 the South Valley Chivas staff traveled to Las Positas College in Livermore, CA. to attended the “Positional Play within FC Barcelona Training Methodology”, presented by former FC Barcelona Youth Technical Director, Albert Puig.
The two day course was part of the International Coaching Series put on by the NorCal Premier Soccer League.
Albert Puig holds a UEFA Pro License and is an instructor for the Catalan Football Federation. He has over 30 years experience in youth football, which includes 11 with FC Barcelona, the last four of which he served as the Academy Director.
He is the current Technical Director of the Nation of Gabon and external Director of Youth Development in Cordoba, with several worldwide projects ongoing. He is the author of the book “The Power Of A Dream” (published in 4 languages) and is in the process of a second book. He is also the recipient of the Spanish National Award of Sport which he received in 2007.
