The South Valley Chivas 06G were crowned champions of the LA Galaxy Conejo Valley Tournament of Champions held over the Memorial Day weekend. The team participated in the Girls 2006 – Gold Division.

During group play they beat LA Galaxy Conejo Valley G06 White team 7-0 and then faced Real SoCal Blue who went quickly up 2-0 only to have Chivas fight back to equalize at half 2-2 and win 3-2.

In the final against a tough LA Galaxy Conejo Valley G06 Red team, Chivas kept a clean sheet but couldn’t score until 30 seconds from the whistle when Jayme Gomez broke through on the left with a square cross to the back post upon which Morgan Phillipe charged, outpacing the defender and slotted one in for the winner.

They South Valley Chivas 06G coached by Matt Bahr and Chris Gilbert finished their Spring season winning all 4 tournament they participated in.
